RULES OF LEGAL EDUCATION, 2008
BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA

Rule 10: Semester system

“The course leading to either degree in law, unitary or on integrated double degree, shall be conducted in semester system in not less than 15 weeks for unitary degree course or not less than 18 weeks in double degree integrated course with not less than 30 class-hours per week including tutorials, moot room exercise and seminars provided there shall be at least 24 lecture hours per week.

Provided further that in case of specialized and/or honours law courses there shall be not less than 36 class-hours per week including seminar, moot court and tutorial classes and 30 minimum lecture hours per week.

Provided further that Universities are free to adopt trimester system with appropriate division of courses per trimester with each of the trimester not less than 12 weeks.”

Entry –4: Total Number of papers (subjects) in law to be offered in both the streams as under:

(a) For specialized and / or honours course, a student has to take not less than thirty six papers in all, which shall include eighteen compulsory papers, four clinical papers, six optional papers and eight papers in specialized/honours course in any Group as stipulated below.

Language policy shall remain same.

Infrastructure

We offer state-of-the-Art infrastructure with air-conditioned rooms which are ICT enabled for seamless learning of students. Hostel facilities will be made available for students on payment basis within 1 and 1 ½ kms radius of the Campus. Hostel fees of Rs. 90,000/- p.a., inclusive of meals to be paid separately.

IT Enabled

With due respect and importance to the IT Revolution and being a technological institution, MIT WPU Pune has taken all the steps to equip its students with all the advantages this revolution has to offer. With its help we have transformed MIT WPU- Pune campus into a true e-campus with a total of 400 computers connected with fiber-optic backbone networks and server-client technology. The e-campus comprises of a state-of-art Internet Centre, which remains open for 24 hours and has been connected with a 4MBPS leased line through ERNET which facilitates high-speed Internet Access and uninterrupted connectivity throughout the campus.

Culture of Sports & Co-curricular Learning

We take every effort to encourage our students to participate in various social, cultural and sports activities. The college has its own cricket, football and volleyball grounds. It also has 1500 sq. ft. modern style well equipped gymnasium. Table Tennis, Carom and Wrestling facilities are also provided. Our students have participated and won number of prizes at Inter-Collegiate, University, State and National levels.
